Chimneyfish – Thursday 10 Mar 2022

Chimneyfish [chim-nee fish] noun
1.  Someone who regularly smokes and drinks excessively
2.  A Dorset-based acoustic musical duo, non-smoking, virtually teetotal

Featuring –
Mark Patrick on guitar and vocals
Ray Russell on double bass and vocals

Highly individual and very entertaining, this is Folk music for the modern age, singing out the pain, joy, love and loss of lives well-lived. From the uplifting joyous exclamation of “I’m in love with You” & the hilarious recollection of a dodgy curry in “Tsing Wah Chilli” to the heart-rending tale of “Restless Angel”, Chimneyfish take their audiences on an emotional and entertaining journey.

Both Ray and Mark have travelled the world and played across many genres in dozens of bands, and within ChimneyFish, with unadorned instrumentation and heartfelt lyrics, they have found a place to share their stories and delight their audiences.

Reviews

Dave Chinery, Rock Regeneration –
“There is nothing accidental about the unapologetically rustic sound of Chimneyfish. They meander through folk, rock n roll, country and jazz in their own inimitable style. Highly individual and enormously entertaining, this is a musical autobiography from two very familiar old mates.”
